Eye Biomarker Database

Biomarkers are biological indicators for special clinical conditions or states. We aim to collect all the reported biomarkers for eye diseases, and provide a platform for researchers to search, analysis and download these biomarkers information.We collect 1167 biomarkers and their important biomedicine/experiment information for eye diseases and group them into different categories according to their biological components and clinical applications. Meanwhile, relevant information for the 101 non-biomarkers (things that have been proven cannot be biomarkers) has also been recorded for the first time. Further, we conduct biological functional analysis for these biomarkers and list 1165 biomarker pathways in EBD. The eye is the window to the human body. Plenty of research has reported that the changes on the eye are valuable biomarkers for other diseases. In this version of our eye biomarker database (EBD), we include 1130 records concerning the eye as a biomarker of human diseases.

生物标志物（biomarker）是用于表征特定临床病症或状态的生物学指标。本数据集旨在收录所有已报道的眼部疾病相关生物标志物，并为研究人员提供检索、分析及下载此类生物标志物信息的平台。本次共收录1167种眼部疾病相关生物标志物及其重要的生物医药/实验相关信息，并根据其生物学组成与临床应用场景划分为不同类别。同时，本次还首次收录了101种非生物标志物（即已被证实无法作为生物标志物的物质）的相关信息。此外，我们针对这些生物标志物开展了生物学功能分析，并在眼部生物标志物数据库（Eye Biomarker Database，EBD）中列出了1165条生物标志物通路信息。眼睛是窥探人体的窗口，已有大量研究证实眼部的变化可作为其他人类疾病的有效生物标志物。在本次发布的眼部生物标志物数据库（EBD）版本中，我们还收录了1130条关于眼部作为人类疾病生物标志物的相关记录。
