Cleansing effect of acidic L-arginine on human oral biofilm

There is accumulating evidence that deterioration of oral health is associated with periodontal disease as well as increased risk for cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and pre-term birth. In this study, saliva samples were collected from four healthy volunteers, and the cleansing effect of acidic L-arginine on the biofilm formed by use of the human oral samples was evaluated by illumina-based 16S rDNA sequencing analysis.
