We studied the biodiversity and long term intestinal yeast colonization in healthy Amerindians from French Guiana. We compared the evolution of the C. albicans genome during persistent intestinal carriage. Two C. albicans isolates from a single individual recovered at time-points 4 years apart, were sequenced and compared. These 2 strains shared the same genotype by MLST typing.
