Private Port Facilities in Kentucky

Initial nationwide listing of port facilities was downloaded from the Corps of Engineers website. The initial format was a spreadsheet. All Kentucky facilities were then extracted from that and plotted using x,y coordinates. From there, facilities were individually examined using aerial photography to verify if any freight activity was evident at the facility. If freight activity was evident, the facility remained in the dataset. If no freight activity was evident, the facility was removed.
