Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at 76 Low Road, Burwell, Cambridgeshire, July-October 2020

This collection comprises site images, a report, GIS data, spreadsheet data, and a database from an archaeological excavation at Low Road, Burwell, Cambridgeshire. The works were carried out by Cotswold Archaeology between July and October 2020. Approximately 1,976 m2 was excavated in six separate, but mostly adjoining areas. The site lies on the western side of Burwell, relatively close to the south-eastern edge of the East Anglian fens. Remains from three main periods were encountered: Bronze Age wells in a natural hollow (2400-700 BC), Middle Iron Age enclosures (400-100 BC), and a medieval domestic site which correlated with previously recorded earthworks, with the most intense occupation dating from the 12th-14th centuries AD.
