资源简介:
The ultimate goal of the proposed experiment is to visualize and quantitatively describe the intermetallic phase formation at the interface between Reduced Activation Ferritic-Martensitic (RAFM) Stainless Steel (e.g. Eurofer97) and Tungsten, during multi-materials Laser Directed Energy Deposition (L-DED) through operando synchrotron X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The acquired data will provide valuable knowledge for the development of Plasma-Facing Components (PFCs) for next-generation nuclear fusion (i.e. DEMO) and Gen IV fission reactors. For this purpose, an in-house designed and built L-DED machine will be installed at the beamline and used for the operando XRD experiments, which will give direct insight into interface dynamics and intermetallic phases formation during multi-materials L-DED manufacturing.
