Comparative transcriptomic and proteomic profiling reveals multiple links between light signals and shade tolerance in bowl lotus

There are no reports on the systematic identification and characterization of light signal response-related genes in lotus. In this study, we applied RNA-seq and 8-plex isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) technologies to obtain novel insight into the biological network and molecular mechanisms that regulate light signals in bowl lotus and to suggest potential candidates involved in the mechanism.
