Data from Geophysical Survey Work at Newton Leys, Phase 1, March 2024

This collection comprises geophysics data from geophysical survey work at Newton Leys, Drayton Road which was undertaken by MOLA Northampton in March 2024. This work involvd Magnetometer survey with a cart-mounted array of Bartington Grad-01-1000L fluxgate gradiometers. The survey detected a complex network of enclosures and trackways of probable Iron Age or Roman date. A large area within the limits of the archaeological features is obscured by a modern utility and a large area of made ground, possibly the infill of a quarry. Medieval to post-medieval ridge and furrow was also detected in all five fields in the survey area.
