To examine the underlying mechanism and treatment effect of p38MAPK inhibition in patient-derived glioma-propagating cells of the mesenchymal subtype. Mesenchymal glioma-propagating cells were cultured as neurosphere suspensions in serum-free growth medium supplemented with growth factors. 1*10^6 cells were seeded in a 10 cm dish overnight. The cells were treated the next day with either DMSO or 100 nM SB202190 daily for 72 h.
