Several E. coli, isolated along the French antimicrobial surveillance programme for food producing broilers and turkeys, were detected resistant to colistin by phenotypic method. Colistin resistance genes, antibiotic co-resistance genes, MLST and serotypes were characterized by whole genome sequencing to evaluate the epidemiology of colistin resistance in healthy animals at slaughter.
