资源简介:
This dataset relates to a publication (in revision) at Earth Surface Processes & Landforms entitled "Detection of paraglacial sediment supply using detrital 10Be in postglacial landscapes of south west British Columbia". The study uses spatial concentrations of cosmogenic radionuclides (CRNs) to identify sources of sediment in the Fraser River basin, utilizing the observation that CRN concentrations are distinct between glacially derived sediment (from past glacial periods), and sediment produced by contemporary denudation of exposed bedrock. Our observation suggest that despite the prevalence of paraglacial terrace fills in the lower Fraser River basin, glacially-derived sediment sourced from terrace fills only contributes ~15% to the modern Fraser River sediment load. The key datasets presented here are 1) an inventory of paraglacial terrace surfaces between Soda Creek and Lady Franklin Rock, that were identified from high-resolution LiDAR data using the methods of Clubb et al. (2017) (see Clubb, F.J., Mudd, S.M., Milodowski, D.T., Valters, D.A., Slater, L.J., Hurst, M.D. and Limaye, A.B., 2017. Geomorphometric delineation of floodplains and terraces from objectively defined topographic thresholds. Earth Surface Dynamics, 5(3), pp.369-385.), 2) a simplified regional bedrock geology map, 3) various topographic metrics that are used to compare against landscape denudation rate estimates, and 4) datasets used in the generation of CRN-derived denudation rate estimates across the Fraser River Basin. Final datasets included in "Detection of paraglacial sediment supply using detrital 10Be in postglacial landscapes of south west British Columbia" by Dingle et al. (in review).
