The world's heavy reliance on fossil fuels is driving climate change, creating an urgent need for clean energy solutions. One promising approach is using sunlight to convert carbon dioxide (CO2) into useful fuels, effectively recycling carbon while generating renewable energy. This thesis explores advanced perovskite nanomaterials that strongly absorb sunlight but often lose energy through rapid charge recombination. By carefully designing material interfaces, controlling structure, and introducing specific metal dopants (Mn and Yb) to store and recycle energy, this work significantly improves charge efficiency and CO2-to-fuel conversion performance, advancing more efficient solar fuel technologies.
