资源简介:

Contemporary freshwater resource management seeks to simultaneously secure sufficient quantity and adequate quality for domestic, agricultural, livestock, and industrial uses, as well as to mitigate water-related risks. While river discharge and water level magnitudes have been extensively gauged worldwide, monitoring river water quality remains sparse in both spatial coverage and temporal resolution, largely due to the substantial manpower and financial investment required. Few off-the-shelf stream water quality datasets provide complementary streamflow, meteorology, and catchment physiographic attributes. Furthermore, anthropogenic effects on surface water are frequently ignored in such datasets. DAMASK (Discharge and water quAlity responses to Meteorological forcing and Anthropogenic stressors in South Korea) provides combined stream water quality (temperature, pH, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and total organic carbon) and quantity data for 314 catchments (median area 336~km$^2$) across South Korea over the period 2014-2024. Three tiers of streamflow and water quality time series, classified by data availability, offer comprehensive perspectives for joint and standalone analyses. Water management facilities and point pollution sources are included to support interpretation of catchment responses under anthropogenic pressure. As the first large-sample dataset combining discharge, water quality, and facility-level anthropogenic stressor data for East Asia, DAMASK is freely available and is intended to support catchment-scale investigations of water quality and quantity dynamics in the South Korean monsoon environment.
