The understanding of the pairing mechanism in unconventional superconductors is currently a major theoretical challenge. Recently, some of us, Renosto et al., has reported Zr5Pt3C0.3 exhibits superconductivity at Tc = 7 K. Due to the doping of electrons by interstitial carbon in the hexagonal D88 – structure in Zr5Pt3, it shows anomalous behavior in physical properties. The heat capacity data suggests an increase in the strong electron-electron interactions and the electronic contribution to the specific heat (Ce). The temperature dependence of the penetration depth and Ce suggests that electronic pairing deviates from the s-wave within the BCS scenario, supported by DFT calculation. Here, we intend to investigate how defect-structure influences the electronic-structure and electron-phonon interaction of Zr5Pt3C0.3 by means of TF and ZF-µSR measurements using the MUSR spectrometer.
