Global Coal Plant Tracker is a global database for tracking coal-fired power plants. It documents coal-fired generating units with a capacity of 30 MW or above across the globe, covering units in operation, those proposed after 2010, and those decommissioned after 2000. The database spans 108 countries, tracks 14,509 coal-fired generating units and more than 3,000 power plant owners, with these units emitting a total of 10.5 billion kilograms of carbon dioxide annually. It is updated every six months, and its latest version was released in January 2026.
