Global dust distribution simulated by CAS-ESM2 and CESM2 and dust event climatology in China

This dataset provides the 12-year simulation of global dust emission flux, deposition flux, burden and optical depth during September 1998 to August 2010 from the two Earth System Model (ESMs). The two ESMs are Chinese Academy of Sciences Earth System Model (CAS-ESM2) and Community Earth System Model version 2 (CESM2). In addition, the dataset also provides the statistics of dust event characteristics at the synoptic weather stations in China. This data is used to support the manuscript submitted to Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems: “Description of dust emission parameterizations in CAS-ESM2 and its simulation of global dust cycle and East Asian dust events”.
