Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola race 5 and race 8 genome sequencing and assembly

The purpose of this study was to determine the genome sequences of Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola race 5 and race 8. Phaseolus vulgaris PI G19833 is susceptible to race 8 and is resistant to race 5. Resistance is characterized by hypersensitive lesions at sites of infection whereas susceptibility is characterized by halo blight at the sites of infection.
