This paper focuses on a newly developed flight test bed, which mounted a specific type of engine. To address the mismatch in starting bleed air power provided by the general aero-engine flight test bed for the test engine, an integrated simulation model of the starting bleed air between the test engine and the flight test bed was established using the overall component performance method. The theoretical analysis method was employed to evaluate the safety of the starting bleed air control system on the flight test bed. The model was utilized to calculate the operating parameters of the starting bleed air control system, thereby supporting its development.Based on the required starting power of the tested engine, the model was also used to determine the control target for the starting bleed air control system. The regulation system was controlled according to the target, so that the starting test engine bleed power provided by the flight test bed reached the required power. Consequently, the design and verification of the adjustable system for auxiliary starting bleed air on the flight test bed were completed. The actual results demonstrate that the starting bleed power provided by the flight test bed could be effectively reduced by adjusting the starting bleed power system, with a maximum reduction of 45.7%, And the maximum error between the starting power and the test engine demand being less than 2%, meeting the accuracy requirement of 5%. The discrepancy between the initial bleed air power supplied by the test bed and that required by the test engine has been resolved. Furthermore, the construction capabilities of China’s flight test bed have been enhanced, and the verification methods for the flight test bed have been diversified.
