Male and female C57BL/6J mice and GLAST knockout mice (GLAST-KO) were housed under standardized conditions, provided with standard rodent chow, and maintained in a 12-hour light/dark cycle. wild-type (WT) C57BL/6J and GLAST-KO mice were randomized and allocated to three groups: (1) WT group; (2) 3-week-old GLAST-KO mice (GLAST-KO-3w); (3) 3-month-old GLAST-KO mice (GLAST-KO-3m). After confirming sufficient anesthesia, eyeballs were collected for RNA-seq.Total RNAs were extracted from WT and GLAST-KO retinas using Trizol and RNA sequencing was conducted then. Following quality assessment and library preparation, the raw sequencing data were processed using the DESeq.2 package in R for normalization and identification of differentially expressed genes (DEGs).
