This dataset is a 1:1,000,000 scale spatial distribution dataset of forest vegetation types in Taiwan Province, China, spanning 2013 to 2017. It originates from the China Forest Vegetation Survey Project of the Research Institute of Forest Resources Information Techniques, Chinese Academy of Forestry. The project was developed using multiple data sources including partial historical vegetation distribution maps, historical forest distribution maps, 2012 TM (Thematic Mapper) data, 1990s TM data, 1:250,000 scale Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data, and field plot survey data, and was strictly processed in accordance with the relevant regulations specified in *Specification for Forest Vegetation Classification, Investigation and Mapping* (2019). The data is vector data, with attribute fields including province/city, district/county, Forest Class Group, Forest Class Subgroup, Forest Class, Forest Order Group, Forest Order Subgroup, Forest Order, Forest Series Group, Forest Series Subgroup, and Forest Series. It has a scale of 1:1,000,000. This dataset provides data support for forest resource surveys, planning and design, and other related applications.
