We examine the distributional history and genetic diversity of the Omei mustache toad. This species has a typical disjunct distribution in mountains surrounding the Sichuan Basin in southwestern China. A study of the evolutionary processes and distribution of genetic diversity will contribute to the conservation of this species, and may provide insights into factors underlying the similar disjunct distributions frequently observed in other frogs.
