资源简介:
PANCAKE is a software to determine the stellar population information of nearby galaxies or star clusters.Stellar populations serve as the fossil record of galaxy formation and evolution histories, providing crucial information about star formation and galaxy evolution histories. The Color-magnitude diagram (CMD) stands out as the most accurate tool presently available for deducing star formation histories (SFHs) in nearby galaxies. The CMD method only works with galaxies that have stellar-resolved observations, and so far, there are only a few tens of galaxies with suitable data. The upcoming CSST will conduct a wide-area multi-band sky survey, covering hundreds of galaxies with relatively shallow (26 magnitudes) stellar-resolved observations, increasing the sample of such galaxies by several times. There is currently no available CMD fitting package that is customizable for different parameters and optimized for CSST observations. We therefore develop an open-sourced Python-based package named PANCAKE. PANCAKE is designed to be user-friendly, fast-running, and precise in determining SFHs and stellar population parameters in nearby galaxies. PANCAKE is also optimized for popular space-based optical/NIR telescopes including JWST, HST, and CSST, with pre-generated PARSEC isochrone libraries in all their filters. This ensures compatibility and accuracy in analyzing data from these instruments. Here we provide the PANCAKE code and necessary data files for the input of PANCAKE.The input data files including: 1. PARSEC isochrone libraries in format required by PANCAKE: We use the stellar evolutional model, PAdova and TRieste Stellar Evolution Code (PARSEC; Bressan et al. 2012). Here include the popular space-based optical/NIR telescopes including JWST, HST, and CSST, with pre-generated PARSEC isochrone libraries in all their filters. 2. Initial mass function (IMF) database: Here include three kind of IMFs, Kroupa IMF (Kroupa et al. 2001), Chabrier IMF individual and system (Chabrier et al. 2003).Here also include an PANCAKE example of dwarf galaxy DDO210. The photometry of DDO210 is from Holtzman et al. 2006.
