资源简介:
The contact angle (θ) of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), Aerosol-OT (sodium bis-2-ethyl hexyl sulphosuccinate or AOT) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) increase while the surface free energy decreases by increasing the volume fraction of isopropanol on aluminum foil showing a hydrophobic nature of the surface with the increase in concentrations of various solvent used. The variation of adhesion work with alcohol surface tension increases linearly whereas the convex polynomial fittings curve of adhesion work with the logarithm of alcohol mole fraction. The curvilinear fitting with the third degreed polynomial equation of Cosθ with 1/√(γL ) for CTAB, the concave fitting with the third degreed polynomial equation of Cosθ with 1/√(γL ) for the high concentration of SDS whereas the curvilinear fitting with the third degreed polynomial equation of Cosθ with 1/√(γL ) for low concentration of SDS. The concave fitting with the third degreed polynomial equation of Cosθ with 1/√(γL ) for AOT. Investigated data highlight the adhesion work with contact angles that give nonlinear variation. The plot between Cosθ and the surface tension of alcohol as well as adhesion work with log C give curvilinear variation where C is the concentration of surfactant.
