Simulation data of multimodal random packing for packed bed latent heat storage systems

This dataset contains simulation output files (Unimodal, Bimodal, Trimodal, Gaussian distributions) used in the numerical study “Optimizing packed bed latent heat storage systems via multimodal random packing” (Energy, 2025). The files include raw output and processed data from ANSYS Fluent and Blender-based models of packed bed latent heat storage (PBLHS) systems filled with spherical phase change material (PCM) capsules. These data support analysis of thermal performance metrics such as energy stored/recovered, charging/discharging efficiency, melting/solidification times, and pressure drop across different particle size distributions.
