MANILA

The MANILA project (Microbiota- and priming-based approaches to strengthen Manila clam resilience under multiple environmental stressors) aimed to develop innovative, nature-based strategies to enhance the tolerance of the Manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) to pollution and climate-related stress. The project combined ecological, molecular, and physiological approaches to understand how the microbiota, together with controlled environmental priming, can improve host performance, survival, and stress resistance.
