Minimal TBIs and Repetitive Occupational Microtraumas Caused by WBV long-term neurodegenerative effects on the brain: Investigating Oxidative Stress and inflammatory biomechanisms

Abstract Occupational exposure to repetitive low-level head trauma (microtrauma) is emerging as a critical but under-recognized factor in long-term neurodegenerative processes. While much attention has been given to high-impact injuries, cumulative subclinical trauma — especially in industrial, military, and sports settings — remains insufficiently understood. This study investigates how repeated occupational microtraumas may trigger chronic inflammation and oxidative stress in brain tissue, potentially leading to early neurodegenerative changes. Integrating approaches from occupational medicine, neuroscience, molecular biology, sports medicine, military and industrial ergonomics, this interdisciplinary research will identify biomarkers and propose evidence-based preventive strategies.
