This RNA-seq dataset was generated as part of a study comparing the transcriptomes of muscle tissue from native guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) and a synthetic hybrid breed known as Kuri. The aim of the study was to investigate the genetic mechanisms underlying muscle hypertrophy in the Kuri breed. Key differences were observed in the expression of genes related to the MSTN gene, muscle metabolism, and angiogenesis. These data provide valuable insights for breeding programs aimed at improving meat production in guinea pigs.
