Sustainable Agriculture, Resilient Communities (Northern Tablelands and Slopes landscape of the Border Rivers-Gwydir catchments)

Aligning to the future Northern Tablelands Local Land Services, the project will work with partners to improve the capacity of local people to deliver agricultural products from a sustainable natural resource base. This will be delivered through a combination of education, training, incentives and on-ground practice change. Partnerships will be developed with Landcare, industry groups, agencies and learning institutions to source the most recent research that can be used by local people to improve their sustainability. In turn the community will become more resilient and able to respond to threats and opportunities created by a changing climate and fluctuations in commodity prices. This project will be delivered in conjunction with the Northwest Sustainable agriculture sub project, the Regional Landcare Facilitator sub project, and the Sustainable Environment stream to maximise the impact of investment.
