This dataset comprises responses from 453 participants collected through an online cross-sectional survey designed to investigate consumer behavior, trust perceptions, and feature preferences across three major Indian e-commerce platforms: Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho. The questionnaire contains 29 variables covering shopping frequency, experiences with fake or paid reviews, user interface perceptions, interest in product rental services, effectiveness of discounts and coupons, impact of account creation requirements, trust in review authenticity, and preferences for novel features such as emotion-based reviews, summarized review insights, keyword visualization, and referral programs. In addition, the dataset includes an open-ended question capturing users' suggestions for future platform enhancements. The dataset provides valuable insights into online shopping behavior and can support research in consumer analytics, digital marketing, user experience design, recommendation systems, trust modeling, and e-commerce platform development. Methods : 1. Study Design - A cross-sectional survey design was employed to collect data regarding online shopping experiences and feature preferences among e-commerce users. 2. Data Collection - Data were collected through an online questionnaire administered using a web-based survey platform. Participation was voluntary, and respondents provided answers anonymously. No personally identifiable information was collected. Value of the Data : 1. The dataset provides insights into consumer trust and behavior in Indian e-commerce platforms. 2. It enables comparative analysis between Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho. 3. Researchers can study the effects of review authenticity and interface usability on purchase decisions. 4. The open-ended responses facilitate qualitative analysis, sentiment analysis, and natural language processing applications. 5. The data can support the development of recommendation systems and novel platform features. 6. The dataset is suitable for studies in marketing, human-computer interaction, information systems, consumer psychology, and data science. Ethics Statement: Participation in the survey was voluntary.
