Plant phenotype is co-regulated by the plant as well as microbial genes, with mutations in root-associated bacteria having the same magnitude of effect as mutations in the plant genome. We performed a study to evaluate that the clonal plants may show higher survival rate if their phenotypes have been modified by their associated microbes.
