The land use types are classified into secondary categories including: paddy field, dryland, closed forest land, shrub land, open forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, medium-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glaciers and snow-covered areas, tidal flats, river beaches, urban land, rural residential areas, other construction land, sandy land, Gobi desert, saline-alkali land, marshland, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and others. Specifically, cultivated land is further categorized based on landform into paddy fields and drylands located in mountainous, hilly, and plain regions, as well as on slopes with a gradient exceeding 25 degrees. The data has a scale of 1:100,000.
