This airborne hyperspectral dataset was acquired by a Headwall Hyperspec-VNIR-C imaging sensor between 09:56 and 10:53 UTC+9 on July 29, 2014, over agricultural and urban areas in Chikusei City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The central point of the scene is located at coordinates 36.294946°N, 140.008380°E. The hyperspectral dataset contains 128 spectral bands spanning the wavelength range from 363 nm to 1018 nm. The scene consists of 2517 × 2335 pixels with a ground sampling distance of 2.5 m. High-resolution color imagery obtained using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera, together with the hyperspectral data, were paired with ground truth labels for 19 categories collected via field surveys and visual inspection. The hyperspectral data and ground truth labels are provided to the scientific community in ENVI and MATLAB formats at http://park.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/sal/hyperdata. Further details of this experiment are described in the technical report provided below.
