Replication Data for: Militarization of Bureaucracies During Bolsonaro's Government: Impacts on Public Opinion about the Brazilian Armed Forces

The study's data is sourced from "A Cara da Democracia no Brasil" surveys conducted in 2018, 2019, and 2020. The Institute for Democracy coordinated these surveys, which were part of the National Science and Technology Institutes Program funded by the Federal Government's Capes Foundation. The surveys involved researchers from various universities, such as the Federal University of Minas Gerais, the State University of Rio de Janeiro, the University of Campinas, and the University of Brasilia. The sample sizes and modes of interviewing varied across the years but were representative of Brazil's urban populations. The 2020 survey, conducted in the first week of June, is unique as it was conducted over the phone during the pandemic's first wave in Brazil and included questions related to the pandemic. In total, 1000 interviews were conducted over the phone in 69 municipalities for the 2020 survey. This paper uses variables related to public opinion on the Armed Forces, Police, Government Employees, and satisfaction with Brazilian Democracy.
