Environmental conditions structure the risk of Anaplasma spp. in desert bighorn sheep - Anonymised dataset

This dataset supports the manuscript “Environmental conditions structure the risk of Anaplasma spp. in desert bighorn sheep.” It contains anonymised records from desert bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni) sampled in southeastern California between 1983-2024 as part of long-term wildlife health monitoring in association with California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW). The dataset includes serological results for Anaplasma spp., demographic information, body-condition measurements and derived proxies, sample year, sample range, environmental covariates summarised at the bighorn-range level, and spatial-overlap proxies for potential alternative hosts. It also includes columns identifying repeatedly sampled individuals, records retained for the primary statistical analyses, and records used in the descriptive repeat-serology analysis. Precise GPS coordinates and original CDFW identifiers have been replaced with anonymised values to protect sensitive information relating to the protected desert bighorn species. The archived data are intended to support reproducibility of the analyses reported in the associated manuscript.
