The fermentation of Zymomonas mobilis 2032 was conducted in 6% and 9% glucan-loading AFEX-pretreated corn stover hydrolysates, as well as in 7% glucan-loading AFEX-pretreated switchgrass hydrolysate, and RNA samples were collected at both glucose and xylose growth stages. Here we present a comprehensive RNA-Seq data set at both growth stages. Overall design: Here, we explored the differences in gene expression based on different hydrolysates. A total of 25 samples were used: 5 biological replicates during the glucose phase in 6% ACSH, 4 biological replicates during the xylose phase in 6% ACSH, 3 biological replicates during the glucose phase in 7% ASGH, 3 biological replicates during the xylose phase in 7% ASH, 5 biological replicates during the glucose phase in 9% ACSH, and 5 biological replicates during the xylose phase in 9% ACSH. Comparison of the 7% ASGH and 9% ASCH to 6% ACSH during glucose or xylose growth will reveal interesting patterns of gene expression that change in response to different glucan-loading hydrolysates.
