This dataset enables parking lot operation teams to accurately identify peak hours, including morning and evening rush hours on workdays and specific time periods during holidays. Leveraging these insights, teams can reasonably adjust staff scheduling to ensure adequate service delivery during peak periods. Additionally, it facilitates the development of time-based pricing strategies, such as moderately raising fees during peak hours to encourage vehicle owners to park during off-peak periods. This practice optimizes parking lot resource allocation, improves service quality and operational efficiency, enhances the parking experience for vehicle owners, and boosts both the economic and social benefits of the parking lot. ### Data Collection Parking space information is collected via multiple sensors and data sources: parking monitoring sensors detect the entry and exit status of vehicles, while cameras equipped with image recognition technology or geomagnetic sensors are used to determine the occupancy status of individual parking spaces. ### Data Processing The collected raw data is first cleaned to eliminate outliers and missing values. Subsequently, the data is sorted chronologically, and the total number of occupied parking spaces in the lot is aggregated and counted on a per-minute basis. The parking lot occupancy rate for a given minute is calculated as: Parking Lot Occupancy Rate (Per Minute) = Total Number of Parked Vehicles in the Minute / Total Number of Parking Spaces A time period is classified as peak parking hours if the parking lot occupancy rate is ≥ 90%. Daily peak parking hours refer to the interval from the start time to the end time of the daily parking peak. Daily peak parking duration is the sum of the durations of all daily peak parking time periods.
