Sea Ice Loss Leads to Regime Shifts in the Arctic Biological Pump: data and code
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the relevant dataset and code for the paper "Sea Ice Loss Leads to Regime Shifts in the Arctic Biological Pump." We generated a satellite-based dataset of net community productivity (NCP) and carbon export efficiency (e-ratio) in the Arctic Ocean during the summer to characterize the spatial and temporal patterns of biological carbon pumping, allowing us to assess the inter-decadal variability of biological carbon pumping in relation to climate-driven sea ice dynamics. We extended our analysis from 1850 to 2100 using an Earth system model to predict how current satellite observation patterns align with long-term trends driven by warming and sea ice loss. In summary, these data enable us to assess both the recent past and future trajectory of biological pump strength in response to ongoing environmental changes in the Arctic Ocean.
