资源简介:
The Household and Family Formation in Nineteenth-Century Tasmania study was begun in the early 1990s when the ARC funded the transcription of microfilmed Births, Deaths and Marriages registers held by the Archives Office of Tasmania. The resulting computer database contained 152,000 records for births (1838-1891), 93,000 records for deaths (1838-1899), and 51,000 records for marriages (1838-1899). In 2004, the ARC provided further funding for the transcription, cleaning and coding of the remainder of 40,000 records for births and 1,000 records for deaths. The data were then used to establish a cause-of-death classification system and ascertain age-sex-cause-specific mortality rates over the nineteenth century in Tasmania. There are three data files in the series; Births, Deaths and Marriages. This particular data set refers to the Deaths records. Background variables include date of birth, gender, and marital status.
