POPS and LOAC v1.5 profiles for concentration and extinction - Hunga Tonga volcanic plume in the midlatitude Northern Hemisphere

Balloon-borne aerosol profiles for concentration and extinction for POPS and LOAC (V1.5) optical particle counters. Flights were conducted in 2022 and 2023 to investigate the transport of the Hunga Tonga volcanic plume to the midlatitude northern hemisphere. Values of concentrations are given for each size class. Extinctions have been calculated using a Mie Scattering model at 500 nm. POPS size classes are given in a given file whereas for LOAC they are provided within the files.
