Simulated Training Data for the Blast Transient Host Galaxies Web Application

The host galaxies of astrophysical transients play a key role in our understanding of their progenitor systems and the use of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) as standardizable candles for cosmology. However, fully characterizing host galaxy environments requires a high-statistics, unbiased, multi-wavelength dataset, preferably with 1-2 kpc resolution. Here, we present Blast, an open-source web application for the community that can ingest live streams of transient alerts and automatically characterize their host galaxies using available archival imaging data. Blast downloads imaging data, measures aperture-matched photometry from ultraviolet to infrared wavelengths, and measures SED parameters globally and locally using the Prospector emulator SBI++. The goal of Blast is to gain a better understanding of the progenitors of CC SNe and improved constraints on potential biases on SN Ia distance measurements in different host galaxy environments. This repository contains the simulated training datasets for the SBI++ emulator. A journal paper is in preparation.
