HIGHLIGHTS (1) Sulfur deposition occurs during the production of high-sulfur gas reservoirs, reducing reservoir porosity and permeability and consequently restricting the efficient development of the gas reservoirs. (2) Through analysis methods such as NMR, CT scanning and SEM-EDS, it is found that sulfur deposition is primarily concentrated in medium and small pores, forming thin films that tightly coat the surface of rock particles. (3) Sulfur deposition will lead to a reduction in the porosity and permeability of rock samples. Moreover, the poorer the physical properties of rock samples, the greater the degree of sulfur deposition damage.
