JADIDISM AS A STRATEGIC MODEL FOR NATIONAL MODERNIZATION AND EDUCATIONAL REFORMS IN TURKESTAN

This research investigates the conceptual and socio-political foundations of the Jadidism movement in Turkestan during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Amidst the colonial hegemony of the Russian Empire, the Jadid intelligentsia formulated a comprehensive strategy for social transformation. This article analyzes the transition from traditionalist educational paradigms to the "Usul-i Jadid" (New Method), the role of the national press in shaping public consciousness, and the tragic fate of the movement during the Soviet repressions. The study utilizes archival sources and literary analysis to argue that Jadidism was not merely an educational reform but a sophisticated precursor to national statehood.
