Molecular Analysis of Skin Bacterial Assemblages from Dry-Salted Codfish and Pollock. uncultured bacterium

To characterize the composition of bacterial assemblages in the skin of three closely related species (family Gadidae): the Pacific codfish Gadus macrocephalus, the Atlantic codfish G. morhua and the Allaska pollock Theragra chalcogramma. Furthermore, we have shown, for the first time, new bacterial groups associated with dry-salted codfish and pollock. However, the impact of these bacterial groups on fish quality and safety remain unknown.
