资源简介:

This dataset was generated from wave flume experiments conducted at the M2C laboratory (Caen, France), designed to investigate sediment transport and beach profile evolution in composite and mixed sand-and-gravel beach environments. Topo-bathymetric profiles were acquired using a SICK-DT500 laser sensor (SICK, Germany) under a range of controlled hydrodynamic conditions and sediment configurations. The shared dataset represents a curated subset of the full experimental archive, including beach profiles composed of both coarse-grained and mixed sediments. All experiments employed a low-density plastic analogue to simulate sediment particles, selected specifically to enable dynamic downscaling of natural processes within the laboratory setting. Only measurements deemed accurate and internally consistent following quality checks are included. Due to unresolved inconsistencies in portions of the raw data, the complete dataset is not provided. The dataset includes: Topographic Data: Raw topo-bathymetric measurements acquired with a SICK-DT500 laser sensor (SICK, Germany), organized by experiment and water level condition. Each file name encodes the experiment ID, duration, water level, profile ID, and date. Photographic Documentation: Side-view images of the wave flume showing beach profile evolution during the progressive addition of fine particles to a coarse-grained beach. Each image panel includes annotated experimental parameters. Python Scripts: A set of scripts for processing and visualizing the beach profiles. LDM_process.py converts raw laser data into elevation profiles, while the comparison scripts visualize morphological changes between coarse and mixed sediment configurations. Environment Specification: A conda environment file to ensure reproducibility of data processing and visualization workflows. Output Figures: SVG-format figures comparing beach profiles across experimental conditions This dataset supports a manuscript currently under review in Geomorphica, which presents the experimental design and broader scientific context of the work. Funding:This dataset was produced within the doctoral work of L. Pancrazzi, funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
