Energy-efficient cooling systems

In many industrial sectors, cooling systems are used to remove process heat. The choice of the right system depends on numerous influencing factors. On the basis of case studies from selected industrial companies, energy-efficient cooling technologies as well as their application possibilities and optimization potentials are described. These are evaluated economically and ecologically. The energy consumption depends on the output temperature, the desired final temperature, the respective cooling unit and medium as well as the consumers (pumps and fans). Compared to continuous cooling systems, recirculating cooling systems have a higher specific energy consumption. Before selecting a cooling system, it should always be checked whether the heat generated can be used elsewhere.
