资源简介:

Bacterial persistence is characterized by a subpopulation of metabolically dormant cells, transiently tolerant to antibiotics and capable of surviving adverse conditions, including antimicrobial treatments. This phenomenon is evidenced by a biphasic killing curve, where an initial rapid decline is followed by a slowed death phase. Persistent cells contribute to chronic and recurrent infections, especially in Staphylococcus aureus, a Gram-positive pathogen responsible for severe infections. Photodynamic inactivation (PDI) represents a promising strategy for microbial eradication through generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The present data refers to photodynamic inactivation (PDI), time-kill, heritability and growth phase dependance assays for research on persistent S. aureus (ATCC 25923).
