Annual emissions of carbon from land use, land-use change, and forestry 1850-2020

This repository contains tabular data of the emissions of carbon from Land Use, Land-Use Change, and Forestry (LULUCF) as reported by Houghton and Castanho (2023). The data include both net and gross annual fluxes of carbon globally and regionally from 1850 to 2020, as well as a list of the countries included in each region. The data were calculated with a bookkeeping model using the shifting cultivation interpretation of land-use change, inferred from data from FAOSTAT2021. Estimates include the emissions from peatlands in both Southeast Asia and northern regions.
