资源简介:
This exploratory research examines the emotional trajectories of a group of Syrian refugee women living in Jordan, with particular attention to how past experiences, present conditions, and future expectations shape them. Data were collected through in-depth qualitative interviews facilitated by collaboration with a local humanitarian organization. A mixed analytical approach combining qualitative interpretation with quantitative techniques, including NRC Emotion Lexicon, hierarchical clustering, and Principal Component Analysis, was employed to identify emotional trajectories. Results revealed two primary emotional trajectories among participants: an emotionally constrained trajectory characterized by a shift from higher negative emotions in the past toward increasing trust and hope for the future, and an emotionally activated trajectory marked by heightened emotional intensity across time, particularly in the present, reflecting ongoing psychological strain and emotional ambivalence. Contextual variables such as perceived future control showed a partial association with emotional trajectories. These findings foreground the dynamic and non-linear nature of emotional adaptation among refugee women, demonstrating that resilience coexists with enduring distress. The study conceptualizes emotional life under displacement as shaped by the persistence of trauma alongside the reconfiguration of agency, underscoring the need for psychosocial frameworks that move beyond deficit-based models to comprehensive, grounded humanitarian and mental health interventions.
