This study provides RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) data obtained from root tissues of a sensitive chickpea genotype exposed to three treatments: (1) untreated control, (2) FOC-infected, and (3) FOC-infected with AMF co-inoculation. The purpose of this transcriptome study was to discover genes that are differently expressed in phytohormone signalling, plant defence, and stress adaption. These findings provide light on the molecular processes behind AMF-mediated biocontrol and will help researchers better understand plant-microbe-pathogen interactions in legumes.
