This study shows that Col6a1cre+/CD201+ cells constitute a subpopulation of mesenchymal cells in the intestine that plays an important role in intestinal morphogenesis and homeostasis. Overall design: 3' RNA-Seq (QuantSeq) profiling of 2 sorted mesenchymal cell subpopulations (Col6a1cre-GFP+, Col6a1cre-GFP-) and unsorted controls from the colon of normal and DSS-treated mice and 3 sorted mesenchymal cell subpopulations (Col6a1cre-GFPhi, Col6a1cre-GFPlo, Col6a1cre-GFP-) and unsorted controls from the small intestine of normal mice. 3 replicates per group.
